My favorite time of the year is Autumn. Sure, the foliage is nice, but that spooky time leading up to Halloween is what I really look forward to.
Things just seem to go ‘bump in the night‘ leading up to the witching hour of Halloween. That incredible mixture of anticipation, fear, anxiousness, excitement, and joy that so many kids experience is kept alive in us all by celebrating this most unique and ancient holiday, albeit in our own modern way.
The Freaker’s Ball is in no way associated with Shel Silverstien nor does it have anything to do with his works or the works of Dr. Hook & The Medicine Show.
The name was mentioned to me years ago by my mother who spoke of a Halloween party in her home town called The Freaker’s Ball. I liked the name and decided to start my own annual party of the same name.
